The Summer School of the University of Bucharest is the oldest initiative of a Romanian university to promote Romanian language and culture throughout the world.

Following the success from 2010 – 2013, this year, the 54th edition of the Summer Courses will be held again in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The events of the Summer School will have a special significance. The Faculty of Letters will host the courses for the fourth consecutive year, the 54th edition of the summer courses being integrated in the celebration of 150 years since the establishment of the University of Bucharest.

The host of this annual event is Bucharest, the capital of Romania. Certified in 1469, the city experienced between the two World Wars a growth period in terms of architecture and culture, which lead to the city being known as the Little Paris. The city has buildings with antique architecture and historical monuments under the patronage of UNESCO. Bucharest also has a modern and intense urban life: many concert halls, theaters and cinemas, cultural institutes, hundreds of restaurants and cafes, modern shops, parks or lakes.
