His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Bucharest on the 31st of May 2014. The ceremony took place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Law.

Among the many reasons why the University of Bucharest’s Senate decided to grant the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales were the close ties that Prince Charles has with Romania. By granting the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to His Royal Highness, Prince of Wales the University of Bucharest recognizes both the merits of a life dedicated to the English nation and the important contributions that His Royal Highness has brought Romania’s image, by placing it in a prominent position on the European map.
